Design Warm-up with Kristina Misko: designing “year in review” product experiences
On December 20, Design Warm-ups hosted online Design Warm-up #83 with Kristina Misko, UX Design Team Lead at Ivi.

Kristina works across TV and mobile platforms, designing experiences for large-scale media products used by millions of people. For this session, we moved away from streaming interfaces directly and focused on one of the strongest seasonal product mechanics: the “year in review” format.
These formats look simple from the outside, but they are powerful product tools. They can increase retention, encourage sharing, bring users back into the product, and turn personal data into an emotional story.
During the session, we looked at how different products use personalized recaps, what metrics these formats can influence, and how visual design, storytelling, and UX structure help make the experience feel personal rather than generic.
Then participants moved from analysis to practice. Each designer created their own concept for a personalized “year in review” experience that could live inside a real digital product.
The task was not just to make a pretty screen. The goal was to think through the user scenario, the emotional hook, the data points, the structure of the recap, and the final moment that makes the user want to save, share, or return.
At the end of the session, we reviewed the work together and discussed each concept. The result was a set of live, practical ideas that could easily become real product features.
