Design Warm-up #1: designing participant certificates with Alexander Lovyagin
On November 30, we hosted our first online Design Warm-up with Alexander Lovyagin, Design Lead at Deel, previously at Arrival and Revolut.
Alexander also teaches design at BBE, lives in Scotland, is interested in modernist architecture, and collects beautiful books.
During the one-hour session, participants designed their own event certificates using one of five proposed visual styles. Alexander shared professional techniques, explained different approaches to working with style, and gave individual feedback to each participant.
One of the most interesting parts of the session was a “secret maneuver”: participants exchanged each other’s layouts and continued working on someone else’s design. It turned the exercise into a small simulation of real team collaboration.
Despite a few prank attempts to disrupt the event, the warm-up stayed relaxed, focused, and genuinely warm.
The session was open to all Design Warm-ups subscribers.
